There are a number of classes open in August and September so referees can recertify for 2013, Bridge to Grade 8 from their present Grade 9 or even attend entry level Grade 8 and Grade 9 classes.
For referees needing to recertify this year, your best opportunity will take place on Saturday, August 25th…why is this the best opportunity? Because you will not have to miss any games to recertify. PCJSL, Men’s League, Women’s League, and Coed Soccer will be on their breaks. Most of the other recertification clinics will be during the soccer season and attending them will impact your ability to referee games on those dates. For Grade 9 referees looking to “bridge” and become Grade 8 referees, there will be a class on Friday, August 17 and Saturday, August 18th.
If any of you know of people wishing to become referees…spread the word, because there will be two opportunities within the next six weeks that will enable people to get certified as a Grade 8 or a Grade 9 referee. The first opportunity will be the Grade 8 class which will be held over 4 days…Thursday, August 9th, Friday, August 10th, Saturday August 11th and finishing up on Monday, August 13th. Furthermore, there will be a Grade 9 class on Friday, September 7 and Saturday, September 8th. All the details on cost of the clinics or classes, location, times, requirements, etc. can be found on the azref.com website under the Classes and Clinics banner on the left side of the website.
Please take a moment now to commit to signing up and recertifying during the August recertification…we do not know how many recertification opportunities will be available this year. Feel free to contact me with any questions and I hope to see you at a class soon.
